Paint blocks to match the number clues

What it is

Nonit is Doppit's daily nonogram, the picture-logic puzzle that hides a drawing in the counting. The numbers beside each row and column list that line's blocks of filled squares, in order. Fill every block where the clues say, and a small picture surfaces from the arithmetic.

Each board has exactly one solution, and logic alone gets you there. Numbers dim as their blocks land and a finished line fades; a clue turns red once it can no longer work. You never need to guess, though nobody will check if you count on your fingers.

How it plays

The clues do all the talking.

• A row marked 3 1 holds a block of three, then a block of one, left to right.
• Blocks in the same line sit at least one empty square apart.
• A line marked 0 is empty all the way across.
• Crosses mark squares that must stay empty. They are notes for you, and only the fills decide the win.

The difficulties

Four pictures are printed daily. Easy develops in thirty seconds to a minute. Medium takes one to three minutes of steady cross-reading. Hard is a three-to-six-minute engraving. On Expert some lines print one boxed total instead of their numbers: you know how many squares fill in, not how they group, and the proof runs six to twelve minutes. If a line stalls, the hint picks the next square and tells you why. A new board goes to press every day. The price stays at nothing.
